Student Travel Scholarship

Each year Feeding Tomorrow administers numerous travel scholarships for students to attend the IFT Annual Event. The scholarships are offered in varying amounts and are available to graduate and undergraduate students who are not receiving funding from another source. Travel Scholarships will open on February 1st, 2019 and close on February 28th, 2019. All applicants will be informed of their status by Aprils 1st, 2019.

General Eligibility

  • Applicants must be full time graduate or undergraduate students pursuing a degree in food science
  • Applicants must not be receiving funding from another source
  • Recipients will need to submit a written testimonial regarding their experience at IFT19 and as well as a thank you note to the sponsor
  • Recipient will be required to submit a W-9 form if a U.S. Domestic student

Travel Scholarships Offered:

Andy & Jan Rao International Division Travel Scholarship: Award - $1,000

  • Applicant must be a student member of IFT and of the International Division; if not a member, join today
  • Applicant must be a full-time graduate student for the 2019-2020 school year pursuing a degree in food science
  • Applicant must be able to attend a division event at IFT19

Fruit & Vegetables Products Travel Scholarship: Award - $800

  • Applicant must be a student member of IFT and of the Fruits & Vegetable Products Division; if not a member, join today
  • Applicant must be a full-time graduate student for the 2019-2020 school year pursuing a degree in food science
  • Applicant must be able to attend division event at IFT19

Harvey Gressgott Memorial Student Travel Scholarship Sponsored by The Dow Chemical Company: Award - $500

  • Applicant must be a student member of IFT; if not a member, join today
  • Applicant must be a full time undergraduate or graduate student for the 2019-2020 school year pursuing a degree in food science
  • Applicant must have a background or interest in texture applications.
  • Applicant must be able to attend a Harvey Gressgott event at IFT19

Sensory & Consumer Sciences Division Travel Scholarship: 2 Awards - $800 each

  • Applicant must be a student member of IFT and of the Sensory & Consumer Sciences Division; if not a member, join today
  • Applicant must be a full-time graduate student for the 2019-2020 school year pursing a degree in food science
  • Applicant must be able to attend a division event at IFT19

Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods Division Travel Scholarship: 2 Awards - $800 Graduate, $800 Undergraduate

  • Applicant must be a student member of IFT and of the Nutraceutical and Functional Foods Division; if not a member, join today
  • Applicant must be a full time undergraduate/graduate student for the 2019-2020 school year pursuing a degree in food science
  • Applicant must have a background or interest in Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods
  • Applicant must be able to attend a division event at IFT19

Quality Assurance Division Travel Scholarship: Award - $1000

  • Applicant must be a student member of IFT and of the Quality Assurance Division; if not a member, join today
  • Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student for the 2019-2020 school year pursuing a degree in food science
  • Applicant must be able to attend a division event at IFT19

Feeding Tomorrow Travel Scholarship: $800 Graduate, $800 Undergraduate

  • Applicant must be a student member of IFT; if not a member, join today
  • Applicant must be a full-time graduate student for the 2019-2020 school year pursuing a degree in food science
  • Applicant must be able to volunteer onsite at IFT19

Ruth M. Patrick Student Travel Scholarship: $500

  • Applicant must be a student member of IFT and of the Education Extension and Outreach Division; if not a member, join today
  • Applicant must be a full-time graduate student for the 2019-2020 school year pursuing a degree in food science
  • Applicant must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
